Collaborative Creativity

In 2021, through Mason Walker's introduction, I began a significant collaboration with Lincoln Design Co. The pandemic had posed unique challenges for them, limiting their usual client and colleague interactions. Guided by their immense creative talent and led by Creative Director and Owner Dan Janssen, our journey focused on leveraging video content to bridge these communication gaps.

the creative force of lincoln

Embracing Lincoln's extraordinary creative flair was a strategic decision. Their ability to drive creative decisions was an asset that I leveraged throughout our collaboration. This approach allowed us to produce content that truly reflected Lincoln's unique brand and capabilities.

adapting to studio ops

Our recording sessions were planned to minimize disruptions in the studio's operations. We aimed to find the perfect balance between creating impactful content and maintaining the studio's workflow. This careful planning ensured that our project complemented Lincoln's bustling creative environment.

transitions in season 2

The transition from Season 1 to Season 2 brought its own set of creative challenges as Lincoln moved to a new studio. This change provided an exciting opportunity to innovate and adapt our filming techniques to the new space. Despite the technical and spatial constraints, it was a positive and stimulating experience, allowing us to explore new creative possibilities.

the chop up: A creative confluence

"The Chop-Up," conceptualized as an educational video podcast, was a brainchild of this collaboration. Dan's suggestion for the name perfectly captured the essence of our project – dissecting and discussing various creative endeavors of Lincoln Design Co. The show provided insights into the thought processes behind iconic designs, offering valuable knowledge to other designers and creatives.

team dynamics

The success of "The Chop-Up" was bolstered by the contributions of key team members. Jake Langston, a fan-turned-team-member, brought his videography skills, enhancing the visual storytelling. Franky Martin, a motion graphics prodigy, created stunning visuals that added depth and polish to our content. Their talents were instrumental in bringing the show to life.

lasting impact

This partnership not only strengthened my skills in editing and directing but also fostered lasting professional relationships. It was a testament to the power of collaborative creativity in raising production quality and achieving mutual growth. For Lincoln Design Co., this venture into video content and motion graphics has opened new avenues for client services, showcasing their multifaceted expertise.

Working with Lincoln Design Co. was an enriching experience that went beyond creating content; it was about harmonizing creativity, learning, and professional growth. The legacy of this collaboration continues to influence my approach to new projects, underscoring the value of creative synergy in the world of design and branding.
